Data Analytics & IoT: Automated Machinery
In the recent webinar on Data Analytics and IoT in the paper sector, Francesco Vergentini (CTO - A Celli Group) and Gianluca Parlangeli (Data Analyst Manager - Extra Red), drawing on their innovative two-year project, provided useful insights on how their technology works in relation to automated machinery in the paper plant sector.
Francesco explained how, for automated systems, data analyses and IOT aim to achieve optimum performance and efficiency also by way of machine learning. He outlined how the machinery interacts with the technology at the same time maintaining integrity of the data by the set-up of data protection walls and penetration tests.
Gianluca illustrated how the engineers and data scientists have collaborated to develop technology and components that permit the user to achieve and maintain optimum results using customised dashboards for the specific machinery.
The webinar gave rise to reflection on how evolution of data collection in the IOT context is moving at such a pace that the impact of the data gathering, analyses and interpretation on performance of the main device can be tricky to conceptualize in terms of contract promises.
Certain contractual express warranties have been rendered obsolete and new contract warranties are needed to address the capabilities of the particular technology. Of course, the formulation of workable warranties can only result from collaboration between lawyer and technical specialist.
