Peak Performers is a nonprofit recruiting firm specializing in contract roles with state of Texas government agencies. We've partnered with the Employee Retirement System (ERS) to recruit for a Data Analyst Report Writer II in Austin, TX.

You will

As a Data Analyst Report Writer, you will be doing Tableau Desktop visualization development and will need solid experience working with Alteryx, Tableau Server Administration and support. You will use Alteryx and Tableau while working closely with the Executive Office staff and IT team members to assist with creating scorecards for the Data Quality Management program; enhancing ERS’s proficiency and support of the Tableau Desktop and Application Server administration.

Your tasks

  • Demonstrate a strong proficiency with the components as they relate to best practices, governance, standards, data collection, analysis, story development, and highly advanced, refined visualizations.
  • Work with the team on review of existing Tableau sites and projects.
  • Work with staff to consume refreshed data and update the Tableau server and visualizations.
  • Work with staff to build Alteryx workflows to create data sources for Tableau dashboards
  • Tableau and SharePoint 2016 integration
  • Design, develop, and maintain professional customer facing dashboards in Tableau server using various reproducible data sources, views, calculations, and parameters.
  • Balance the use of standard reporting templates and metrics with the creative use of those templates and metrics to create compelling client narratives.
  • Provide guidance on best practices and standards for Tableau Desktop developers to create their own visualizations.
  • Provide guidance on best practices and standards for Tableau Server analysts to interact, modify, and create their own visualizations.
  • Provide guidance on appropriate governance around both Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
  • Provide support for issues/questions on using Tableau.
  • Provide guidance on best practices around upgrading Tableau Desktop across the enterprise.

You have 

  • 5 years of experience serving on an Analytics team required
  • 5 years of experience developing and supporting Tableau Desktop
  • 10 years of experience in mine data leveraging SQL (SQL Server and Oracle)
  • 10 years of experience understanding and interpreting data to develop relevant and insightful visualizations
  • 10 years of experience in demonstrated statistical, analytical, and writing skills
  • 5 years of experience soliciting, documenting, and communicating user requirements
  • 3 years of hands-on experience using Alteryx
  • 3 years of experience around documentation of standards, best practices, and governance as it relates to Alteryx, Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server

You may also have 3 years of hands on experience

  • In a PeopleSoft HRMS package
  • With data in a PeopleSoft Financials package
  • With various types of HIPAA data

Project term

Compensation: $56.00/ph (W2)

Work Location: 200 E. 18th Street, Austin. TX 78701 (Remote while covid restrictions are in place)

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM

Assignment Length: Starting Asap and continuing for 6 months
