Data Analysis with Structured Thinking

Data Analysis with Structured Thinking

Structured thinking organizes our ideas neatly and simplifies complex data tasks, showcasing its alignment with the 6 analysis phases for effective problem-solving.

Let's now explore questions that further illuminate how it makes handling tricky data jobs, including working with datasets, easier.

Step 1: Ask

The initial step in the process of data analysis is the "Ask Phase." This phase involves gaining a clear understanding of the problem at hand.

Questions to ask yourself in this step:

  • What problems do stakeholders mention?
  • How can I help them solve these issues once identified?

Step 2: Prepare?

We will decide what data we need to collect in order to answer our questions and how to organize it so that it is useful

Questions to ask yourself in this step:?

  1. What do I need to figure out how to solve this problem?
  2. What research do I need to do?

Step 3: Process

Clean data is the best, and we will need to clean up our data to eliminate any possible errors, inaccuracies, or inconsistencies. This might mean:

Questions to ask yourself in this step:?

  1. What data errors or inaccuracies might get in my way of getting the best possible answer to the problem I am trying to solve?
  2. How can I clean my data so the information I have is more consistent?

Step 4: Analyze?

We need to think carefully about our data. Arrange and organize it so we can understand it better.

Questions to ask yourself in this step:

  1. What story is my data telling me?
  2. How will my data help me solve this problem?

Step 5: Share

Share our results effectively by summarizing them with clear and appealing visuals, using tools like graphs or dashboards.

Questions to ask yourself in this step:

  1. How can I make my presentation engaging and easy to understand?
  2. What would enhance my understanding if I were the audience?

Step 6: Act

Now it’s time to act on our data. we will take everything we have learned from our data analysis and put it to use.

Questions to ask yourself in this step:

  1. How can I use the feedback received during sharing to meet stakeholder expectations?
  2. What actionable steps can I take based on the insights gathered?

These questions are our guiding lights—leading us toward a more organized, insightful, and actionable approach to handling data.

Happy analyzing!
