How would you like to become a LinkedIn Top Voice?
Did you know that out of LinkedIn's massive network of 930 million members, only 300 are selected as Top Voices annually? That's a minuscule 0.0000003% of professionals!
Shhh! Don't tell anyone but I have shared my powerful system on how you can join me to become a Top Voice on LinkedIn.
BREAKING: OpenAI announces Sora, a new text-to-video model. It can generate 1 min long high quality video that already rivals Runway.

1 年Well well well! Competitiveness requires you to know the secrets of the trade along with the tools of the trade. “Horses for courses”. One of the greatest misconceptions is assuming that "business-as-usual" data analysis approaches will always apply to both structured and unstructured data. The turnaround time of the data analysis task can be reduced to seconds, that's what we are noticing with more innovative tools. Most professionals fail to appreciate this (this is where we drop the ball), and what tool you use, will be judged by the quality of your results (relevance, time and cost). The kind of exploratory DA tools one uses for data that is streaming will differ from tools for data that is at rest. Why are you carrying out data analysis? (for me this is the most important question, as it dictates what tools you ought to use). Note that Data Analysis as a practice has always been around, what has changed is the nature of data and tools. I will be more inclined to view the same question from how has it been affected by emerging data analysis and visualization tools, how is the use of these tools giving me the competitive advantage when performing this task vs when using what I know traditionally/tried and tested?

1 年Also because “BI” is not really business intelligence. The volatility of market conditions faced by a corporation cannot be reflected in passive models of data analysis.

1 年Well, any tool can't substitute a process with a goal in mind.

1 年Finally somebody says it!! Power BI, nor any tool is data analysis. You can do data analysis with any of these tools. Some are better suited for the taks than others. This misconception merely comes from people thinking in systems. That's what they use every day, and that's why they tend to refer to the tool, rather than the activity or domain. Example, ask them about their CRM, they'll ask you what? Ask them about their salesforce.... Ask them about their ERP, or try it with SAP.... see how you get the fastest answer. Thanks for sharing these thoughts Leon !! Keep it up.
