Dashing Up The Down Staircase
All that smoke from the forest fires out West, definitely made our morning sun appear amber to the point where there was a short time when our atmosphere seemed completely unnatural. I did happen to notice on the news where it's supposed to be like this for several days.
Once I had all my little office chores done and settled-in for the day, I called a dear friend of mine who sent me a text message over a week ago, asking if I again wanted pears off his two trees, and of course I accepted his offer without a second thought, so part of my morning was spent getting pears picked off their two trees. I didn't get as many as I would've liked, and only because those horrible black gnats just wouldn't leave me alone. I had my hat on, but I didn't have the mesh with me which was definitely a mistake on my part. Oh well, I do believe I managed to get enough to make another batch of pear preserves which I've grown to like very much. Just before leaving, I sent a text to my friend thanking him for allowing me to come and pick them. If I don't have enough, I'll have to call and ask if I can do another session of picking, but the next time I'll be prepared for those vile gnats. I did notice the deer had already stripped the lower branches of their fruit.
When I got back to office, I followed up on some phone calls, along with setting an appointment to look at a residence belonging to someone I've known for quite some time, and by the sounds of it, the preparations for having it show-ready, have already been set into motion. Considering how fast this market has been moving with certain types of homes, I dare say it'll sell more sooner than later.
Part of my afternoon was spent working on my office accounting, along with getting some late-arriving bills paid, so about all I have left, is getting those real estate taxes paid. Ugh! I know we all have to pay our fair share, but it always gripes me when I see willful waste of our tax dollars, but as most know, there are very few individuals in administrative positions who're noticeably careful about frivolously spending money that doesn't belong to them. It's very much like all the many who've inherited money, and as soon as it's in their hands, they're spending it as fast as they can on things they'd never do if it was money they worked for. I think it's quite remarkable how such mindsets work because I personally couldn't bring myself to such willful waste.
My recent sales are continuing to move thru their normal processes without much if any hitches, so hopefully they'll all close on time with soft landings. There's no question how thankful and grateful I've been for the added business these recent months, and thus far, it looks to remain at its pace.

I'm sure many of you will be watching the debate tonight, but unfortunately I can't bring myself to being tuned-in to watching D.T. for any extended period of time. As I've mentioned to those in my close circle, I'll be all the less worrisome over our Country and our world if he doesn't get elected, and only because I continually have this very bad feeling about a dark chain reaction which'll take place if he's elected, which I why I'm praying deeply every day that we'll be dodging a bullet. I even get this 'feeling' that a number of us are continually dashing up a down staircase, just to avoid what we 'know' is at the bottom.
With several free hours, I changed into my work clothes and went over to get some additional work done at my extended project. I did manage to complete what I started over the weekend, so now I'll be ready to continue on with getting another big chunk of it completed this coming weekend. The upside of working quietly alone, is having time to get some deep thinking done, which is something more people should be doing on a regular basis instead of being plugged into one form or another of their mindless medias.
Tonight's One-liner is: To discover and know has always been a deep tendency of our nature.
