The Dash - Spring 2024

Regional HQ opening the key milestone in a momentous three months?

Opening a new regional headquarters, jetting to events around the world, and exploring opportunities in the wider real estate sector - it's a busy three months!?

This edition of The Dash, our regular newsletter, comes at the end of one of our most momentous quarters to date.?

Our A-team has been working hard behind the scenes to expand our business and sniff out opportunities to help more clients, new and old, benefit from the power of cross-functional teams.?

That's not to say, however, that we have not been able to enjoy ourselves in the process with much excitement going on behind the scenes.?

Read on to get all the info you need about our recent activities!

Arabian assimilation hits new high with Saudi settlement?

Expansion into one of our key markets continued at pace with the establishment of a new regional HQ in Riyadh.?

Setting up a permanent home in the Saudi capital marked the completion of an ambition long held by Avinash Nandakumar, our Co-Founder and the GM of this new office, as he explained in a special Q&A.?

He and Pietro Vecchiato, Vice-President of Client Partnerships, rubbed shoulders with leaders from hundreds of other global enterprises. A special Riyadh event for participants in the Regional Headquarters Program was a fitting way to mark another key moment in our company's rapid rise - and we expect more to come.?

Going global to explore opportunities and share services?

Our senior leadership team have been busy seeking out opportunities around the world to explain the benefits of utilising technical expertise as part of experienced project teams.?

Pietro has been on something of a whistle-stop world tour, gracing three events on as many continents. Trips to Stanford University in the United States and the world-leading MIPIM property event in Cannes, France, saw him discuss industrialised construction and real estate innovation. He also joined Avinash for the aforementioned Regional Headquarters Program event in Riyadh.?

Vice-President of Client Partnerships Akin Akbiyik has also been busy. His busy schedule has included him meeting clients and contractors at the Türkiye-Saudi Arabia Business Forum in Istanbul and then joining Güne? Aydo?an, our Head of Strategic Business Development, to glimpse the future at the 'Digital Davos' that is LEAP.?

Our leaders will continue exploring avenues to connect with those who can both see the need and the benefits of cross-functional teams when it comes to completing complex projects.?

The wisdom of crowds?

Teamwork drives so much of what we do. We believe in cross-functional teams so much because they can offer such a range of perspectives and skills. Harnessing that the way we do makes for better outcomes and is what makes our service offering unique.?

However, this also applies internally too. We are constantly working on new digital products and services and building a brand for them is no small consideration - that's why we prepared a two-part series on the value of naming and our approach to it.?

Network connections and understanding our A-team?

The professionals with whom we engage provide technical knowledge and experience that is invaluable to our clients. There is so much more to them than that, though, as our new Hyphen Spotlight Series illustrates.?

Former United Nations economist Philippe Rudaz was the subject of our inaugural interview and shared his passion for painting and some fascinating insights from his career. That was recently followed up by the publication of a thought-provoking feature with entrepreneur, coach and consultant Dr Laura Joan Salm. This is just the start of this series and readers should keep their eyes peeled for more instalments in the future.?

We have also lifted the lid on the lives of some of our amazing A-team. Orlando Gon?alves, our Senior Software Developer, and Lilas El Moughrabi, our Senior Associate, both opened up and shared some interesting tales from their respective journeys.??

Developing careers, developing people?

We currently have an opening for a tech-savvy Client Partnerships Associate looking to further enhance our talented team and are still taking applications.?

However, we are not just improving our team by adding numbers – we're adding skills as we explained in a post about our array of career development opportunities and resources. We also do this with in-person sessions during our co-working retreats, the latest of which recently took place in Italy’s capital, Rome.?

Summer might still be a way away for some of us but things are heating up for Hyphen and we look forward to sharing more exciting updates with you over the next few months. As ever, keep your eyes peeled for news on our website and LinkedIn page - and remember to subscribe to The Dash if you have not already done so!
