The Dash - Spring 2023

The Dash - Spring 2023

Making big moves as we build for a bright future.

Welcome back to The Dash, Hyphen’s quarterly newsletter! It’s been a busy and eventful start to 2023 for our A-team, with automation, additions and agile working all aiding our efforts.?

As ever, we are pushing for progress behind the scenes and have already made some real headway this year. Here, we will summarise the highlights of Q1 for us.?

Curating a team capable of bringing long-term success?

Our supreme talent-spotting abilities are not just beneficial for our clients, they are helping us too as we look to increase our capacity and scale up.?

Last week, we announced that Akin Akbiyik has joined us as Vice-President of Client Partnerships. He is the fourth addition to our team in 2023, following on from Lilas El Moughrabi, Adam Kovacs and Orlando Goncalves – and there are plenty more lined up for the coming weeks.?

By adding to our team, we can help more organisations find the perfect balance of talent and flexibility for their engagements. We also want to continue building the Hyphen of the future and that means developing new products and services while maintaining our inclusive corporate culture.?

Agile and automated working creates opportunities for our team

Technology is key to us giving clients and experts the best possible experience on their engagements. For example, more collaborators will now benefit from our first-class finance systems thanks to our automation efforts - and we are working on more still.?

These improvements are built on human endeavour and as we grow, we are managing the balance between aligning current and future goals through agile working. That is why we are so keen for our team to take an interest in all parts of the business: so that we can all spot new opportunities.?

Going the extra mile(s)?

Even by our globetrotting standards, March was a busy month.?

A week-long fact-finding mission in the Middle East heralded some valuable insights that will shape improvements to the services we offer experts and clients. Our Operations team met with key vendors and are reaping rewards that help multiple stakeholder groups, reiterating why we believe in building long-term relationships.?

While that was taking place, some of the newer members of our team flexed their mental muscles in Brussels. This crash course in Hyphen life will help them get used to our approach and methodology enabling them to be more impactful more immediately.?

And following those trips, our entire group got together in Athens for our first full-team co-working retreat of 2023. The mix of team building, business planning, creative thinking and cultural exploration made for a very productive and interesting week in the Greek capital and set us nicely for the next quarter and beyond.?

What’s next for Hyphen?

Despite all our recent progress, there is plenty more to come from our A-team in the coming quarter. Among the things to watch out for are:?

  • News on a new technology-driven solution that will make life easier for experts and consultants as well as our own team.?
  • More new faces, with several already having agreed to join us, including another executive-level hire.?
  • Another European co-working trip in June, with our whole team joining together once again to build on the work started in Athens.?

We will keep working to improve the engagement experience further for the Hyphenation so check out our website and LinkedIn pages regularly to get the latest Hyphen news.?

We wish you all well and The Dash will be back in a few months!?
