Into the Darkness

For thousands of years, humans followed the flow of nature. Then, in 1878, Thomas Edison discovered how to contain electricity and bring light to the night. Our lives and time began to change.?

Now we deal daily with technology that keeps our brains fired long after we put down our phone or turn off the TV or computer, leaving your body exhausted while your brain is too busy to turn off. Your energy is scattered.?

When you are scattered, you can find it hard to focus, feel drained and it’s hard to cope when something extra or unexpected shows up. Now you may be snapping at someone who just needs time to understand. You find yourself losing your keys, your phone, or your head if it wasn’t attached.?

Here is the best practice I know to quickly gather your energy so you can feel calmer and in control.?

There are just FIVE easy steps. First, put your phone alarm on if it helps you not worry about time.

  1. ??Close your eyes and breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
  2. ??Notice your feet. In your imagination, mind’s eye, pretend to see your feet. Breathe.
  3. ??Allow your attention to scan your body, looking for an area of lightness or ease. Maybe it just feels “comfortable.” If you can’t seem to find an area, pick any place in your body.
  4. ???Hold your attention gently on that spot in your body until your timer goes off. Breathe.
  5. ???Open your eyes and notice how you feel.?

It may take a few tries if this isn’t familiar to you. You can’t get it wrong; it may be that you aren’t used to looking at your inner landscape. And that’s ok; you can continue to repeat this process daily, knowing that it works even if you don’t feel anything. Don’t get frustrated. You are doing it perfectly for you.

Book a call to tell me about your experience with the exercise.
