Darker side of a Trainer

Yes I am trainer and I am doing this from last many years. Contrary to popular belief that Training is something which is easiest thing to do , I felt It is one of most challenging job anybody can do in their life time.
However I have no guilt that i have chosen to go in this direction and In fact I have throughly enjoyed my journey as a trainer but still wanted to share some challenges what I have faced or I think trainers face-
Sleepless Nights -
Tomorrow you have to deliver a new training program which you have never delivered before . You are not sure how your participants are going to be and what is going to be their expectations. Have you ever experienced this , I am sure you had.
Packed Bags -
Training comes with travelling so there is no need to unpack you bags as you may need to pack it again. It is quite normal if your kids are asking their mother that who is this guy in the house. Trainers need to travel too much that they start hating travel and for them holiday are just being at home and that creates another typical problem with family who wants to go out for holiday.
Sore throats -
Need to speak from morning till evening and that too 5 days in week and your throat is not a machine and even machines can go bad. Every trainer goes through this about choosing their hot or cold food, before going to training , Not able to eat ice creams and having a tough time in changing weather from one city to another.
Flood and Drought -
Sometime you are just flooded with work and your family start suing you and other times you are sitting idle since long and you feel like most useless person of this world.
Air travel -
Air travel was something which was our dream when we were kids and we all remember where we use to wave to the flying aircrafts and felt great about it. However for a trainer this is the most painful part of their life and sitting in narrow seats of aircrafts for 2-3 hrs for domestic travel and 8-10 hrs for international travel , is no fun. Of course it takes a toll on your health.
So these were some of my thoughts and feel free to add yours if you wish to do so.

9 年Good thought, rather good experience, has gone into this article. Every trainer will share these ... It is not Travel - it is Travail for many. Each skilfull trainer has to think on his feet. His mental pains and aches are much more than the physical ones. Physical pains and aches can be endured but not the mental ones, especially when the vendors or clients want the best out of a trainer at the cheapest cost ! That is worst mental pain a trainer can bargain for !
