DARK PINES by Will Dean optioned for TV by Lionsgate, six-figure deal for future books
News this week that Oneworld’s literary crime imprint Point Blank has acquired three more Tuva Moodyson novels from Will Dean in a substantial six-figure deal. The first novel Dark Pines, published by in January 2018, has also been optioned for television by Lionsgate, one of the largest independent television producers in the world (Orange is the New Black, Nashville, Mad Men, Motherland).
Executives Steve November and Sarah Conroy, who have a twenty-year track record producing high-end, critically-acclaimed drama for both terrestrial and cable producers, acquired TV rights from James Carroll at Diane Banks Associates on behalf of Kate Burke.
November said: "Dark Pines has it all – an original, gripping crime story, an evocative, cinematic setting and, most importantly, in Tuva Moodyson a vivid, complex and compelling character whom viewers will love."
Oneworld bought UK and Commonwealth rights to Snake River and two more untitled books from Kate Burke at Diane Banks Associates in advance of the highly anticipated sequel Red Snow in January 2019.
