Dare To Stand - An Open Letter
The Michelle Loud Story

Dare To Stand - An Open Letter

I write with a heavy heart, urging all those who hear my words to stand in solidarity with Michelle Loud, a mother who has endured years of injustice, with her pleas falling on deaf ears. The narrative surrounding Michelle's struggle for justice has been clouded by the shadows of money, power, and corruption. It is a tale that has unfolded over time, leaving us with more questions than answers.

Recent events have brought to light the perplexing decision to award custody of Michelle's child, Jason, to Cora Jakes. As an individual with some background in the workings of foster care organizations and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), I find myself unable to comprehend the rationale behind this decision. There is a lack of evidence supporting the necessity of such a move, be it in the form of psychological evaluations or assessments of home suitability.

The question that echoes in my mind is simple yet profound: How was this decision reached, and what are the capabilities that led to Jason being placed under Cora Jakes' care? I am no expert, but my experience has taught me to seek transparency and justice in such matters, especially when the welfare of a child is at stake.

In the course of her harrowing journey, Michelle Loud has been met with heartbreak upon heartbreak. The very fabric of her family has been torn asunder, leaving her not only separated from her child but also from the siblings Jason should rightfully be united with. The pain of watching her pleas go unanswered has been exacerbated by the apparent manipulation of a system that is meant to protect and serve.

Having suffered from postpartum challenges, Michelle's voice has been further stifled by the weight of her struggles. The system, designed to offer support, has failed her at every turn. The very essence of justice seems to have been compromised in the face of power and influence.

Now, as the world's attention turns to Michelle's story, it is time for her voice to be heard, for her pain to be acknowledged, and for justice to prevail. Let us come together, united in the pursuit of what is right, advocating for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Jason's custody. It is time for the truth to emerge, for the shadows to dissipate, and for Michelle Loud to be reunited with her child and the family that should rightfully surround them.

This situation calls for compassion, understanding, and action! Reuniting Michelle with her son is not just about correcting an individual injustice; it's about sending a message that our society values and empathizes the plight of ALL mothers. More emphasis has to be placed on providing adequate resources and guidance to mothers during the postpartum period. Postpartum depression is real, and prioritizes the best interests of children in every decision made is imperative. I stand with Michelle and demand a system that upholds these values. #bringJasonHome
