Have you ever felt trapped by fear—so much so that it kept you from stepping into your purpose?

For years, fear held me back. It whispered lies in my ear:

? “You’re not good enough.”

? “You’re not qualified.”

? “What if you fail?”

I let fear silence my voice and delay my calling.

But one day, I made a decision...

I broke up with fear.

It wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. And today, I want to share with you how I did it—and how you can too.

The Truth About Fear

Fear isn’t just an emotion—it’s a mindset. It builds walls around us, convincing us that failure is inevitable and that we are incapable of change.

But here’s what I realized:

? Fear isn’t the absence of faith; it’s an opportunity to strengthen it.

? Fear grows when we feed it with doubt, hesitation, and avoidance.

? Fear only has as much power as we give it.

For me, the turning point came when I stopped negotiating with fear and started walking in faith.

The D.A.R.E. Framework: My Path to Breaking Up with Fear

To break free from fear, I created the D.A.R.E. Framework—a step-by-step approach that helped me move forward in faith.

???? Here’s how you can use it too:

1?? D – Decide

Breaking up with fear starts with a decision. I had to decide that fear would no longer rule my life.

I stopped waiting to “feel ready” and took action despite the fear.

?? Ask Yourself: What decision have you been putting off because of fear?

2?? A – Acknowledge the Root

Fear doesn’t just show up—it has roots. Mine stemmed from past rejection, self-doubt, and the fear of failure.

Once I acknowledged where my fear was coming from, I could finally face it head-on.

?? Ask Yourself: What is the root of your fear? When did it first take hold?

3?? R – Reframe the Narrative

Instead of seeing fear as a barrier, I started viewing it as a teacher.

?? Instead of “What if I fail?”, I asked “What if I succeed?” ?? Instead of “I’m not good enough”, I reminded myself “God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called.”

?? Ask Yourself: How can you reframe your fear into an opportunity for growth?

4?? E – Execute in Faith

Faith requires movement. I had to step out—even when I was still afraid.

?? I started speaking. ?? I started showing up online. ?? I started walking boldly in my calling.

And the more I moved, the smaller fear became.

?? Ask Yourself: What small action can you take today to move despite fear?

Moving Forward in Faith

Fear didn’t disappear overnight. It still tries to creep in. But now, I recognize it for what it is—a distraction.

When fear shows up, I remind myself:

? I am equipped. ? I am called. ? I am walking in faith.

And so are you.
