Danny Danon: Hypocrisy on a UN Platform

Danny Danon, speaking on behalf of a state that has bombed UN facilities, killed hundreds of UN employees, and whose ambassador shredded the UN Charter on live television, stood at the UN platform to feign outrage. His grievance? A UN-funded magazine dared to eulogise Dalal Mughrabi—a symbol of Palestinian resistance against occupation. Danon accused the PLO of indoctrinating children and denounced the UN for funding such content.

Let’s address the hypocrisy.

The Indoctrination of 'Israeli' Children

While Danon points fingers at Palestinian education, 'Israeli' children are steeped in decades of systemic indoctrination that dehumanises Palestinians and normalises apartheid and genocide. This is not speculation—it’s documented in 'Israeli' literature, curricula, and even state-sponsored media.

1. Singing About Genocide

In November 2023, 'Israel’s' public broadcaster Kan aired a video of 'Israeli' children happily singing about “eliminating” Palestinians within a year. While the video was deleted after backlash, it was no anomaly. It reflects the systemic dehumanisation Palestinians face in 'Israeli' society.

Danon quibbles about Dalal Mughrabi while 'Israel' produces songs celebrating genocide.

2. 'Israeli' Children’s Literature

'Israeli' scholar Adir Cohen’s analysis of 1,700 Hebrew-language children’s books found 520 filled with humiliating depictions of Arabs. Among these:

  • 66% portrayed Arabs as violent,
  • 52% as evil,
  • 37% as liars.

This dehumanisation isn’t accidental—it conditions children to view Palestinians as less than human.

'Israeli' children are raised to dehumanise Palestinians, not coexist with them.

3. Holocaust Education Weaponised

Historian Andrew Hurley documented how Israel weaponises Holocaust education to channel hatred toward Palestinians, often framing Arabs as “the Nazis of today.” This narrative desensitises Jewish children to Palestinian suffering and legitimises violence against them.

The Role of 'Israeli' Textbooks

'Israeli' education system indoctrinates children through state-approved textbooks.

  • Daniel Bar-Tal’s 1998 study: Israeli textbooks emphasise Jews as eternal victims and frame Arabs as existential threats—“cruel, immoral, unfair.”
  • Nurit Peled-Elhanan’s 2013 study: Found textbooks label Palestinians as “terrorists” while erasing their history and suffering.

Such narratives prepare 'Israeli' youth for military service, where they are taught to view Palestinians as “the enemy,” not as humans.

The Consequences

'Israeli' educator Shlomo Ariel observed young conscripts who openly supported apartheid and proposed the physical liquidation of Arabs. This chilling indoctrination is evident today in the online posts of young 'Israelis' celebrating Gaza’s destruction and mocking Palestinian suffering.

Danon’s Hypocrisy Exposed

While Danon rails against Palestinian education, he ignores that 'Israeli' children are taught to celebrate genocide and embrace apartheid. He complains about Dalal Mughrabi being honoured, yet 'Israel' glorifies figures like Itamar Ben-Gvir, a man convicted of incitement to racism, and state leaders who call for wiping Gaza off the map.

The real indoctrination isn’t in Palestinian schools—it’s in 'Israeli' classrooms, where children are taught to justify genocide and embrace apartheid. Danny Danon’s hypocrisy is clear: he wants the world to look away from 'Israel’s' systemic brainwashing and ongoing atrocities. But the world is watching.

The UN shouldn’t take lessons from a state that bombs its facilities and murders its staff.
