Daniel Priestley, Ali Abdaal and Gibson Guitars

To be honest, I hadn't heard of either of them, and a late afternoon trip into London following a morning's shoot didn't particularly appeal. But as I keep saying to my little boy - something good always happens when you step outside your comfort zone.
Daniel Priestley and Ali Abdaal , both young Youtube entrepreneurs/millionaires/educators filled out a lecture theatre at the London School of Economics with like-minded young wannabe entrepreneurs/millionaires/educators - and Jonathan Reeves and myself.
I was half way through and impressed with Priestley's book 'Key Person of Influence' so had half an idea what to expect but doctor-turned-YouTuber Abdaal was new to me.
Both spoke about how they started their careers, Priestley coming to the UK with virtually nothing; Abdaal riding the YouTube wave at the perfect time.
Both inspiring stories, served up with heaps of advice and tips from their successes and failures. It's definitely worth looking them up. Abdaal is more on the productivity side and Priestley on a business, entrepreneurial angle.
My one big takeaway was to reverse engineer the future. What is the future of photography? What sectors will change? How will technology shape the next 5/10/20 years?
And the second amazing thing that happened that day was I visited the new Gibson Garage, off Oxford Street and had the opportunity to try out more than a few of these stunning guitars.
A few more guitars on the wishlist but most importantly: something good always happens when you step outside your comfort zone. Unless you happen to be my credit card...
