The Dangers of Misinformation and Accountability

The Dangers of Misinformation and Accountability

Everyone seems to want to point fingers at one another, blaming others for all the wrongdoings happening in our society. It’s mind-boggling how much the mainstream media adds fuel to the fire by blaming various people or circumstances without considering the impact their words and actions have on others, especially children.

For over 70 years, we’ve been presented with two distinct outcomes when it comes to how we share and receive information. Not just within our circles, but to the entire world. An old phrase comes to mind: “Knowledge is power.” And with that knowledge comes wisdom. But where is the wisdom today?

I’ve yet to see anyone apply this wisdom in how they share information. It’s as if some prefer to disseminate information without any support or backing, almost as though the data itself is inherently evil, only for people to realize it is not. The mainstream media often runs with a story, calling it evil—sometimes for days or even years—and then, when the truth comes out, they refuse to correct themselves. Instead, they double down on the false narrative. Admitting they were wrong seems to be a bridge too far. It’s as though they would rather continue the lie than acknowledge the truth because doing so would be more damaging to their agenda.

This tendency to avoid the truth is not limited to media outlets; it extends to federal hearings as well. Many institutions, including the media, resist transparency and are often quick to suppress fact-checking or criticism, especially when it contradicts their preferred narrative. Their primary goal is sensationalism—what garners attention and boosts ratings. The truth, in their eyes, is secondary to generating buzz.

Since the 2024 election, it’s become even more apparent how some in the media twist speech, context, and comments to fit their agendas. It feels worse than high school drama. Certain leaders and media figures seem to think they know everything as if they are the sole authority on what people should believe or how they should live their lives. And this attitude is dangerous. It's reminiscent of the old saying, “Life is what you make of it.” This implies that you can control everything, from your destiny to the weather, which is just unrealistic. Life is not about controlling everything. Life is what happens to you, and how you respond to it that matters.

A prime example of this mindset is the current administration. The Biden-Harris administration has adopted a tone that suggests everything is fine under their leadership, even though many Americans continue to face significant challenges. Their rhetoric implies that the country is stable and improving, yet the reality is different. It seems they have a God complex, dictating how people should think, act, and live, while anyone who disagrees is branded as an enemy of the state. They even went as far as arresting individuals for social media posts, many of which were simply personal grievances.

But when these actions are questioned, they ignore the concerns. Instead of addressing the truth or making necessary changes, they double down, just as the media often does when confronted with facts that contradict their narratives. The problem is not just the tools people use to share their thoughts—it’s the people themselves, and how they use those tools irresponsibly.

Let’s talk about the 2024 election. In the aftermath, people are already trying to rewrite history. The narrative of the 2024 election was painted as one of division and discord, but less than three days after the election, we began to see things shift in a positive direction. Trump, who was once criticized for his leadership, is now taking action to address some of the same issues he spoke about in 2016, like rooting out corruption in the government. Many feared that his presidency would lead to World War III, but before the pandemic, things were beginning to improve under his first term.

Even when he was criticized for his statements on fake news, many dismissed him. But after the 2020 election, people began to question if he was right all along about the media and the corruption that has seeped into social platforms, government agencies, and politics.

Now, with the 2024 election behind us, the truth is coming to light. People are realizing how much misinformation was spread during previous election cycles. But instead of owning up to the lies, the media continues to spin them, trying to maintain control over the narrative. After Trump’s win, they even attempted to have him assassinated—twice. Despite these efforts, he still emerged victorious. Yet, the mainstream media and its allies continue to spread falsehoods, refusing to correct their mistakes.

The rise of social media and the transparency it provides have made it easier for people to see through the lies. No longer can the media and Hollywood elites hide behind their platforms, pretending to know what’s best for everyone. The reality is that social media is full of transparency, exposing both the good and the bad.

But it’s not just celebrities and politicians who are affected. Ordinary people also face scrutiny and judgment, especially children. Social media platforms, which should be tools of connection and self-expression, have become breeding grounds for hatred, bullying, and misinformation. The constant barrage of negativity can lead to serious mental health issues, particularly among young people. It's clear that social media, like any tool, can be used for both good and evil.

And yet, mainstream media continues to perpetuate the problem. They don't seem to care about the impact their words have on children or adults. They fail to consider how their reporting influences the mental well-being of others. Many of them, knowingly or unknowingly, are causing harm by spreading misinformation, making the situation worse for those already struggling.

We’ve seen this behavior in the aftermath of the 2024 election. Media outlets, talk shows, and even some social media influencers continue to spread lies and mischaracterizations. Once they are called out for their dishonesty, many cry victim and refuse to take responsibility for their actions.

The truth is, everyone is accountable for their words and actions. Social media platforms don’t cause harm—they simply expose it. It’s up to the people who use them to decide whether they will spread truth or lies. We all can use our words as weapons, and it’s important to remember that we must be responsible for the impact we have on others.

The real issue isn’t the platforms themselves—it’s how people use them. Whether it’s the media, politicians, or everyday people, when we speak, we make ourselves more transparent. And in today’s world, transparency is both a gift and a burden. If we don’t carefully consider our words and actions, we risk being held accountable for the harm they cause.

We are seeing this unfold before our eyes, as people—especially in the media—are being exposed for their lies and manipulations. Eventually, they will have to face the consequences. The truth is coming out, and it’s up to each of us to decide whether we will use our voices for good or for harm.

Karma is a force that cannot be ignored. Those who spread misinformation will eventually find themselves confronted with the truth. The lies and dishonesty are being exposed, and there will be no escaping the consequences of their actions.
