The dangers of A.I becoming a superior Animal

The dangers of A.I becoming a superior Animal

So, I was chilling out with some friends this weekend, and we got into one of those deep discussions that make you feel like a philosopher, we talked about what really separates a human being from an animal and an animal from a stone. It Turns out, the major difference is our ability to think along with our remarkable talent for outdoing ourselves in stupidity. I mean, we have gone and created nuclear weapons!. Imagine that, while other animals are busy living their best lives, eating, sleeping, and occasionally fighting over food, we are here inventing gadgets that can wipe out entire cities. Talk about overachieving! Honestly, if animals could see us now, they would probably be like, “E be like say dem dey overthink this life thing.”

Our ability to think has been what kept us at the top of the food chain for so long, begin able to outsmart other low IQ animals since the days of Adam. We are the ultimate brain champions! But now, just as we are relaxing, sipping our garri slowly, and thinking we are the boss of the animal kingdom then boom, Artificial Intelligence (AI) shows up to ruin the party. And the real thing is that? These are the monsters we made. Very ironic isn't it?

There is a lot going on in the AI space so much that it really begs the question, are we actually as intelligent as we think, or are we blindly feeding the kraken that will one day swallow us all?

We have all watched movies were A.I turns against us and tries to take over the world, but somehow, despite the warning from the movies, we are here happily spoon-feeding this new spices of animal that is going to soon become better than us in everything. We may just end up becoming it's butlers or servants ?? very soon that's if we don't forget to program in emotions into it else we may just go extinct.

What is to become of us, humans, if AI can replace everything we have spent years perfecting, everything we pride ourselves on doing? What happens to our worth, our purpose, and our divine calling for those have one, when A.I do our jobs better and faster?

Take for instance a truck driver. The one who has been driving the highways for years, and does not care what the weather is like through the rain, and sleepless nights, just to make sure there is food on the table. He is proud of his work, and the sacrifices he has made for his family. But now, self driving trucks is on the rise, what becomes of him? How will he feed his children when the very thing that gave him dignity has been taken away?

And what about the teacher? The one who spent years in teachers collage learning how to teach in other to shape young minds, adapting to every child's needs, pouring her heart into every lesson. Now, a tutoring A.I program? can provide personalized education, 24/7, without ever getting frustrated or tired. How does she find meaning when a computer program can now connect with her students in ways she's worked her whole life to master?

Don't even get me started on programming, this one na story for another day??.

This isn't just about jobs, it's about our very existence in the workforce. When AI starts replacing the skills we thought were irreplaceable, where does that leave us? What do we do when the only thing left for us is to sit back and watch a machine do what we used to take pride in? We are not just talking about livelihoods here we are talking about losing the very essence of what makes us feel human, what gives us purpose.

You find out it is only a matter of time before people turn to crime as a new venture just to put food on the table and keep their families afloat. Isn't this a sobering thought? When traditional sources of income are eliminated, desperation can push even the most law-abiding persons to conduct crimes they would never contemplate before. Before you know it, we are facing a crisis that could lead us down a path toward extinction as a race.

And if I were to tell myself the truth A.I cannot be stopped; instead, like water, It can be controlled and made useful to the human race. It would have been a good idea to have a governing body overseeing AI development to ensure we are not creating stuff that will take over the world, but here's the issue, imposing regulations could hinder innovation. It's a double edged sword, we need oversight to prevent rogue AI from taking control, but if we clamp down too hard, we risk killing creativity and progress. After all, we want AI to be our helpful sidekick, not the boss!

Anyways as my Nigerian brothers would say, I just dey talk crap. ??

Great write up & contemplation! I always think about: Revelations 8:12~ The "Angel of the Lord" speaks of smitten/reducing a third of sun moon and stars affecting the cosmic order of time as if to suggest God is speeding up time by taking part of time away~ if that makes sense. Isn't it ironic we have all this technology to save us time including "daylight savings" on our calenders yet none of us feel the effects of saving time in our day? We've become so busy with technology, we can't get enough sleep nor quality family time!!! God knew mankind would evolve into chaos!! AI will attempt to "control" our eventual demolition. Matthew 24:22 Jesus speaks of a time of great tribulation so intense that, without divine intervention, "no flesh will be saved." Interesting choice of words!! What about machines & AI?? Jesus wasn't saying the world will be destroyed, He said: "NO FLESH WOULD BE SAVED." I am convinced Revelations 13:18 is a warning of AI as the beast: "Here is wisdom. Let he who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: his number is six hundred three score and six (666). I am convinced more every day through neuralink advances, AI, etc. the man of perdition will be AI/man.
