Temperatures in California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona are projected to go well past 100°F through this weekend. Arizona and southeastern California are in danger of hitting 115 to 120°F.
The temperature in Phoenix, Arizona could reach its previous all-time high of 122°F on Saturday and Monday, with the National Weather Service calling the heat there “rare, dangerous, and deadly.”
