The Danger of Blessing

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father…” James 1:17.

Everything we have is a blessing that we don't deserve from Him. Nevertheless, how easily our attention can be shifted to blessings & start losing the grip of His grace.

We need to always remember not to love these blessings more than the Giver. It’s dangerous to lose focus of the Source and attend fleshly desires and still think that we know the Lord & are blessed by God materially. We deteriorate spiritually by believing that external blessings are proof of His Favour. How dangerous it is!! Blessings are good to enjoy but the danger lies when we make them the source of sole dependency.

When blessings are taken in wrong attitude, it gives birth to pride. We tend to think ourselves as distinct from the crowd & despise the less fortunate in heart. Does your blessing help you to desire more for God? Does your blessings serve you to love Him truly without getting distracted?

Daniel was holding a high position at the palace yet he never sinned, whereas David was throned as King at the palace but he sinned. It’s when we are comfortable from all sides; we need to be more cautious to have the right perspective & dependency upon God.
