??Dancing in Hyderabad!
Every year at Gainsight, we have two company-wide events to celebrate our teams and to look ahead. This past week, we had our celebration for teammates from India, Israel, and the Netherlands. And can I just say—my time in Hyderabad has left me SO fired up!
The stage was filled with incredible talent from start to finish, and my fellow Gainsters were gracious enough to humor my awkward dance moves. I had a blast donning my sherwani, chatting about Durable Growth, and learning from our innovative team. Our theme for the event was “Together, We’re Unstoppable!” and I definitely left feeling that way, despite the MASSIVE jet lag…
Last week was memorable for another big reason. Now, I’m usually not a big fan of lists, but being on the Fortune Best Workplaces for Women in 2022 list is pretty cool. It’s mainly a testament to the talented and high-performing women we are lucky to have at Gainsight. Huge shout out to leaders like Alka Tandan , Caitlin Quinlan , Carol Mahoney , Emily McDaniel , Kellie Capote , Kelly DeHart , Marili 't Hooft - Bolle , Monika Saha , Robin Merritt , and so many others!

As a tech CEO who has met people from at least 5,000 SaaS companies over the last decade, I find myself reflecting a lot on what is fundamental to a software company. The default answer might be “a product.” But I’d argue that in the last decade, the barrier to entry for SaaS has gotten so low that technology and features are largely commoditized.?
In my nearly three decades of SaaS experience, I have come to believe that the biggest differentiator and value proposition of a software company is the community of people who use, improve, and advocate for your product. This is why community-led growth is one of the hottest durable growth strategies in SaaS today.
So here are six reasons I think community should be a fundamental part of every SaaS product:
