Dancesport &The Importance of Posture

With Dancesport, a very competitive arena of dancers competing in many areas and styles of dance. Often, pushing themselves to their limits and beyond which leads to injury or overuse. There is not fault in that but with more education in the understanding of muscular imbalances, proper activation of muscle for stunts and other techniques and of course being spatially aware of your own body would be just as important in this context.

Therefore, by understanding posture better and also having the latter included into any competitive Dancesport dancer is very important. This will help to create a full holistic approach to the sport and to the dancer bodies. Yes, we also understand that as dancers you dedicate many hours dancing and practicing with your partner or alone but by neglecting the effects of how dance might cause severe muscular imbalances. Dancers within Dancesport could consider doing other cross disciplines to help improve the overall musculature of the body.

Knowing these, why would you not want to do improve on it and of course make yourself a notch above the rest? Building strength in flexibility, gain balance in body, activate muscles when you need them and prevent injuries from occuring. It's the best of all worlds combined to be a better Dancesport competitor and live almost injury free from the standpoint of overuse and posture.
