Happy weekend before Election Day. I'm sure some are tired of hearing about politics, and I know I'm tired of talking about it as well. But we have to push forward if we want to have the end result I think many are hoping to see - Theresa DiFalco the winner of an unprecedented write-in campaign for Rockland County District Attorney.

Before I go any further, I am still asking for volunteers for Election Day. Give us an hour, or two or even three, to stand outside a polling location and hold up signs we made that will hopefully catch the attention of those going to vote - in particular those still unaware of this race, and even those unaware of the tragic loss of Jared Lloyd. If we catch their attention before they enter the polling location we stand a good chance of capturing their vote. But that only happens with volunteers, so please reach out to us this weekend!

Of course, we also urge you to continue talking to your friends, neighbors, and relatives about this - find 5-10 more people you know that you haven't already convinced to go write in Theresa's name. If you can do us that simple favor we have a great chance of success come Tuesday night.

Speaking of Tuesday night, one of three scenarios will arise. Scenario one - the amount of write-in votes exceeds the amount of votes for Tom Walsh, and Walsh concedes the race. I suspect this will not happen, because even if our numbers are bigger than his there is no way he will concede the race, given the next possible scenario.

Scenario two - our write-in numbers are greater than his, and for the next few days the Board of Elections has to manually go through all the write-in ballots to make sure they pass muster. You see when you vote by filling in the bubble and writing in Theresa DiFalco on the ballot, the machine will only read the bubble. Then, assuming there are enough write-in votes to require the next step, the BOE will review each and every ballot to make sure the name was written in properly, and there are no disqualifying stray markings. If people followed our instructions, which by the way are on the home page of our website and pinned on our Facebook page, then we should be good, but I can guarantee there will be some who did not follow our instructions and those ballots will not count. My hope is it will be a very small number that gets disqualified. Once that process is complete, the BOE can declare a winner. Either side may take it a step further and challenge the results in court - but for now, let's focus on getting more write-in votes and impress on everyone to do it correctly - write the name in the correct box and fill in the bubble and that's all.

Scenario three - Walsh wins, and we all go home. I have been part of several campaigns - it is far more satisfying to win than to lose. Hearing things like you gave it a good try and the like doesn't really make you feel better. So to avoid scenario 3 let's get the vote out and find ourselves with scenario 2 at the very least.

I know Clarkstown will have a pretty strong turnout because the Supervisor race there has drawn a lot of attention. So I really would like volunteers at the Clarkstown locations. There are 17 locations in Clarkstown - I'll be happy if we can cover the 10 largest locations, especially in the early morning and after work hours.

In Ramapo, there are no contested races for town positions. There is a contested race in the Village of Suffern for Mayor and Trustee. Given that Theresa's home base is the Suffern area I expect great turnout there. Of the 9 contested races for County Legislature, 3 involve seats wholly in Ramapo and one touches a very small portion of Ramapo.

In the Town of Haverstraw, there are no contested town-wide races. There is one contested race in the Village of West Haverstraw for Trustee. Of the 9 contested races for County Legislature, 1 involves a seat predominantly covering Haverstraw.

in the Town of Orangetown, the only contested town-wide race is for the two Town Council positions. There is also a contested race in the Village of Nyack for the two Trustee positions. Of the 9 contested races for County Legislature, 3 involve seats either wholly or partially in Orangetown.

In Stony Point, there is a contested race for the two Town Council positions. There is no contested race for County Legislature.

In short, there are not many contested races throughout Rockland, and many may have decided it was not worth the effort to get out and vote. Well, we hopefully have provided a reason to do so. If you were inclined to stay home, please come out and write in Theresa DiFalco for District Attorney. The anticipated overall turnout may have been low, but we can use every possible vote because of the infamous bloc vote we know is going to Walsh.

We really can't talk about a race in Rockland without taking into account the bloc vote. It played a big role in Walsh's 2019 victory, and the bloc has continued to grow exponentially in Rockland year over year. My calculations put that bloc at an estimated total of 34,000 voters. That doesn't mean that all 34,000 will come out to vote, but there will definitely be some big numbers for Walsh from that community. In fact, the bloc leaders have put out the call that Walsh is the good guy and those of us who seek to send him packing seek to "?????????? ???? ?????? ???? ?????????????????? ?????? ?????????????????????????? ???? ???????????????? ????????????. ???? ??????'?? ?????????? ???????? ?????????? ?????? ??????????????????????????." The world is truly upside down, and Walsh is the righteous man who does the right thing?

YOU, the people of Rockland, have a decision to make. I know many of you have made the correct decision and are writing in Theresa DiFalco for DA. But we need to overcome the strong support Walsh will receive from the bloc. It isn't that the average bloc voter agrees with the bloc leadership, with whom Walsh is inextricably tied, it is that they are unwitting pawns who are caught up in matters and will follow their leaders' call to action because that is what they know. We have to chop away at this blind adherence to corrupt leaders who will use any means necessary to elect people who will allow the justice system to be circumvented for their own nefarious needs. DO NOT let this happen yet again. Stand up for what is right. Stand up for justice and integrity. Stand up for "Justice for Jared".
