Dall-E vs Proverbs Part III
Time for one of those again! OpenAI is constantly hard at work with their GPT products, and one of the things I noticed recently is that the Dall-E in-image text got a lot better. Let's put that to the test through visualising some proverbs! This time I want to use proverbs that are not from Europe.
The first proverb is "A roaring lion kills no game". This one was titled as "African", without specifying a country. I looked country origin, I can't find one. But it's a great proverb anyway! We got:
That one Antilope just to right of the Lion is a bit wierd, but both the picture and the text (I asked for a "ROAARR!") is fine. Let's turn it up a notch! My next destination was Latin America, and I decided to use the Spanish proverb "Cada uno sabe dónde aprieta el zapato," - if the shoe fits everyone will know. The text I asked for was just "It fits!".
All things considered, it's pretty good! Judging by how happy everyone looks there, I'd say he was looking for comfy shoes for a while! Good footwear is a must. Going to China next! An ancient, beautiful culture, with a vast recorded history and tomes of wisdom. I went with "He is victorious who knows when and when not to fight." from Sun Tzu.

The pic didn't put what I asked in the speech bubble, but it managed to reproduce the actual proverbs perfectly well. Judging by the face of the man at 3 o'clock, the choice of whether to fight or not won't be yours to make! India next. Indian culture is just as ancient and as filled with wisdom, and also has some great sayings and proverbs from more recent times. I went with “We are kept from our goal not by obstacles but by a clear path to a lesser goal.” Can't agree more! This time I insisted that instead of the proverb text there would be "A lofty goal!".
I love the style and the composition! I'd love to see what the actual lofty goal if that mountain isn't it! Let's wrap up with a Samoan proverb "Ole ala ile pule ole tautua" - The path to leadership is through service. If only the politicians saw it that way! For the prompt, I insisted that there would be no text from the proverb and instead a speech bubble with "Proud to serve!".
I am not sure what is up with the house, or rather the crowd inside it, but the picture is great and the text is just as asked!
It seems the Dall-E has gotten a lot better at text, although it still struggles with interpreting the prompt. Not perfect, but oh so much better!

1 年Great work Fjodors Et al ( or should I say "Fjodors Et Dall-E" ?? ) . I was thinking, perhaps in the Samoan proverb the "leader" should be doing "some service" for the people - rather than the people doing the service for the leader! Or maybe its depicting all the people are going to be the future leaders!
