It is a momentous occasion for the Sudanese business community, as we celebrate the first-ever partnership between a Sudan-based company and LinkedIn. This historic partnership is reflection of DAL GROUP ENGINEERING DIVISION (DED) commitment to growth and innovation, as outlined in Mr. Motasim Daoud Abdellatif 's (MD) vision. Our DX strategy, developed through a specialized digital business and innovation program, has paved the way for this exciting collaboration with LinkedIn.
"It is very important that our deeds matches out aspiration" --Motasim Daoud Abdellatif
With LinkedIn's extensive network of professionals and cutting-edge technology, DAL GROUP ENGINEERING DIVISION (DED) will have access to a vast pool of talent, making it easier to identify and recruit top performers. Additionally, LinkedIn's online learning platform will allow DAL Engineering's employees to develop new skills and knowledge, enabling them to deliver even greater value to the company.
"Today we celebrate a new and unique milestone: announcing the first-ever LinkedIn partnership with a company based in Sudan.?“ Yaser Babiker – LinkedIn Sr. account director
What is the thing that made it a groundbreaking deal is that it crowns a long march from both sides to make it true.
The US embargo on Sudan was first imposed in 1997, restricting US companies from conducting most types of trade and investment with Sudan. And was lifted in 2020 after the Sudanese revolution, and the progress on several issues, including human rights, peace negotiations, and counterterrorism.
However, some restrictions related to Sudan remain in place, particularly on the technologically related aspects.?Companies need to be informed about the change in the Sudan situation and motivated to take the necessary actions.
A great endeavor was carried out by the DED, LN Mena office, and different levels of LN support teams to white-list Sudan. specially Yaser Babiker , Arda Atalay , Andrew Frost , Marcus Butler , Firas Abu Hamzeh , Aimen Hassanien , Alex Adeniran. MSc, PMP, ITILv3 , Tom Newman
From this moment on, any Sudanese company will be able to access all LinkedIn services without any further restrictions. Including job postings for locations inside Sudan.

I can't tell you how glad I am to see it is almost more than 400 job posts now available since this issue was fixed.
This partnership is not just a one-time accomplishment, but a call to action for collaboration and continued work to address remaining restrictions. We hope that this partnership will catalyze more collaborations between Sudanese companies and global organizations like LinkedIn. Together, we can work towards creating a more open and inclusive digital ecosystem. We encourage other companies to join us in this endeavor, and we are committed to working together to address any remaining restrictions and make progress toward a brighter future.
But the question that I kept getting, is why a company would ever need to make a deal with LN since all services are already free?
Yes, there are free services available on LinkedIn, such as creating a personal profile or a company page and even posting job openings for free. However, the corporate services provided by LinkedIn can make a significant difference to a company, its employees, and job seekers. These corporate services were not previously available to Sudanese companies due to the US embargo on Sudan, and in general, they are not free.
As we reflect on this achievement, I am reminded once again of the power of teamwork. Together, we have proven that anything is possible when we work together towards a common goal. tributes to Badredin Abuelgasim Head of Human Resources, and Mahmoud Sanhouri Head of Strategy & Business Development for their vision and efforts in allowing things to happen.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such an incredible team, and I look forward to continuing to work together toward even greater success in the future.
