Daily Safe Practices
Hello, this is the very first post on my Safety Tips series. Today, I will be talking about some useful tips you definitely need for your everyday life, especially if you are a lone worker. I consider these few tips very useful. Remember, been proactive is better than been reactive. Always endeavor to prevent accidents and incidents from happening than finding a way to recover after they occur.
Tip #1: Alternate your routes often to avoid stalkers. Don’t be known for utilizing a particular route always. This will make it easy for anyone to track you down.
Tip #2: Alternate your leisure spots. Don’t use same beer palour, clubs, parks and even hotel repeatedly to the extent that you can easily be predicted.
Tip #3: If you are a lone worker or you run errands, e.g. parcel delivery agent, street cleaner, night teacher, ensure to always carry a personal attack alarm and/or pepper spray. Double-check to ensure no one is following you to your car and be conscious of your environment when exiting buildings
Tip #4: In a case of kidnap, scream for help as loud as you can. Use any personal defensive method or maximum force you can muster to escape if you assess the situation and see that its possible. if not, cooperate so you don't get harmed.
Tip #5: Do not wrestle with a thief trying to take your personal belongings like cell phone or wallet. You could get yourself hurt. Remember to always keep your keys, wallets and cell phone in your front/side pockets
Tip #6: Keep a low public profile as much as possible. Do not show off your affluence
Tip #7: Avoid moving around at night if possible. Using public transportation at night should be reconsidered.
Tip #8: If you notice someone tailing or tracing you, do not proceed to your car. Find your way to the nearest populated location where you can call for help.
I hope you find these tips useful. Remember, "there is always time to do it right". You can follow me on Steemit for more interesting articles.
