Daily Maintenance Tips for Excavator Hydraulic Cylinders

Hydraulic systems play a critical role in many types of machinery, relying on hydraulic oil as a medium for power transmission. The system works by pressurizing hydraulic oil via the main pump, and directing it through control valves to the various actuators, providing the necessary force for operations. This process is essential for the overall energy transfer of the machine.

?

To ensure precise control and stable performance, the hydraulic components must be highly accurate, and the quality and cleanliness of the hydraulic oil are crucial. For this reason, oil filters and return filters are integrated into the hydraulic system. Similar to how the liver filters harmful substances from the blood in the human body, hydraulic filters remove impurities from the system, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.

?

Without the effective filtration provided by hydraulic filters, contaminants would enter the hydraulic system, accelerating component wear, reducing system pressure, causing erratic movements, and ultimately leading to premature equipment failure. This would result in costly repairs and unplanned downtime. Our dedicated hydraulic oil filters feature a durable filter housing and consistently sized filter pores. The filter paper is bonded using a special high-temperature adhesive to ensure complete sealing. The paper is neatly and evenly arranged, preventing it from shifting under the flow of high-temperature, high-pressure hydraulic oil, thus guaranteeing efficient filtration and consistent flow.

Daily Maintenance Tips for Excavator Hydraulic Cylinders

?

Regular Hydraulic Oil Changes: Hydraulic oil should be replaced regularly, and the system's filters cleaned to maintain cleanliness and extend the lifespan of hydraulic components.

?

System Air Purging and Preheating: Before loading operations, run the hydraulic cylinders through five full extension and retraction cycles. This will purge any air from the system and preheat the components, which helps prevent air or moisture from causing internal damage, such as gas explosions or burning inside the cylinder, which could harm the seals and lead to internal leakage.

?

Temperature Control: Keep the hydraulic system temperature under control. Excessive oil temperatures shorten the life of seals, as long-term high temperatures can lead to permanent deformation or complete failure of the sealing components.

?

Piston Rod Protection: Ensure the piston rod's surface is protected from impacts and scratches that could damage the seals. Regularly clean the dust seals and exposed piston rods to prevent dirt from entering the cylinder, which could damage the piston, cylinder bore, or seals.

?

Tighten Loose Connections: Frequently check all threaded and bolted connections. If any are found loose, tighten them immediately to prevent mechanical failure.

?

Lubrication of Joints: Keep all connecting points properly lubricated to prevent rust or abnormal wear that could occur if they operate in a dry state.

?

Mining equipment faces extreme conditions?with high dust, large temperature swings?and continuous, high-pressure operations. OM hydraulic cylinders, especially for?excavators, ?are designed to handle these?challenges with advanced technologies for?high pressure, impact resistance, and?durability. Our ultra-large-tonnage mining?cylinders meet international performance?standards.
