????? DAILY INSPIRO 040924:
There's studios we love and then there's studios we want to BE.
Man Vs Machine's always at the top of the list but of late, they somehow seem to have found even another gear. Lots more live-action+vfx integration, striking cinematography, and collabs with all kinds of new partners shine on their new reel that dropped at OFFF'24.
The playful intricate sims that leave us smiling and scratching our heads are still there on full display, but somehow MvM has advanced another level – I wasn't sure that was even possible, but check out that new reel and try not to drool ??

Jake Parker 's Youtube channel is full of creator tips and tricks, and occasionally he'll pull a book off his jam-packed shelves and tell you what makes the work tick – and this time he takes a deep dive into Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes. There's so much to learn from artwork that sits just adjacent to motion design, and this comic strip is full of hidden treasure.
NotReal.tv is a recent hit on my studio radar – they're firmly fixed in that beautiful, clean, powerful type vibe that every tech company is fixating on these days, but there are hints of trying to push clients out of the familiar in every one of their projects.
Take a look at the variety in type approaches they've got on display in their Squarespace Fluid Engine piece where they've got the occasional 3D type mixed in with classic and kitschy kinetic type – anytime someone slides into italics when they're animating type to sell motion gets a thumbs up in my book. Plus their NIKE Gumball piece brings a sense of playful poppiness to an otherwise often-requested look and feel.
