In July and September one of our magical Facilitators, Brett Wood, will be running a free online session on ‘Understanding why leading is so hard and what to do about it’. Brett knows his stuff in this space and has been coaching coaches, and amazing humans, for a very long time now. I’m not saying he’s old. Just experienced.

These events are worth your time. I will be taking us through some content that will align with the conversation Brett will have with us. Just some tasters if you like.

The reason why leading is harder than ever before is because of the VUCA conditions we live in. VUCA stands for volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. It’s really about the constant and unpredictable change that has become normal for us now.

The higher you climb up the corporate ladder then the more VUCA (uncertainty) there is to deal with. So if we lead teams or ideas what are the simple things we can do to make the gig easier for us and for your people?

Theresa Amabile and Stephen Kramer captured 12,000 online journal entries of leaders to understand what fuelled effective leaders. It was called the ‘Progress Principal’ which Harvard Business Review called a breakthrough idea. They were right.

This series will look at some of the practices of effective leaders who are able to deal with the uncertainty that is thrown their way. And what to do about it. It's a challenging gig leading. It’s never had more complexity. But we don’t need to make it harder than it needs to be. Stay tuned for some findings and sign up for Brett’s online session.
