Ryanair opens 19 new routes for Portugal Summer 2023

Irish low-cost carrier? Ryanair - Europe's Favourite Airline has outlined its Portugal Summer 2023 schedule with 19 new routes to destinations including Barcelona, Rome, and Toulouse.

All new routes will operate from Faro and Porto in response to lower airport charges, whilst no growth will be allocated at Lisbon, the Azores, or Madeira airports.

The airline states this is “due to no slots in?Lisbon, unjustified airport charges rise and ETS taxes which damage Portuguese islands tourism and jobs.”

Virgin Atlantic resumes its Shanghai flight services

Virgin Atlantic ?is set to restart its much-anticipated flights to Shanghai this year, with the daily service resuming on 1 May 2023.

The move comes following a relaxation in travel restrictions between the UK and China, with borders opening to foreign nationals for the first time since 2020.

China is one of the most important trading partners to the UK, and as the country’s largest city, Shanghai is a world-renowned commercial and financial hub.

It also offers UK tourists a melting pot of culture, from?Pudong district’s?futuristic skyline, and the Bund’s famous waterfront walkways to the traditional pavilions in Yu Gardens.

AerCap celebrates delivery of 50th Boeing 737-800 freighter

AerCap has taken delivery of its 50th?737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF). The aircraft conversion was completed at COOPESA, a leading MRO provider with expertise in aircraft modifications and conversions.

The aircraft was redelivered to? GOL Linhas Aéreas , who will operate the aircraft on behalf of a Latin-American e-commerce company as part of the growth strategy and logistics solution of GOLLOG, Gol’s logistics business unit.

In 2016, AerCap Cargo was the launch customer of the?Boeing?737-800BCF and took delivery of its first aircraft in?April 2018.

Air Canada Boeing 777 Declares Emergency On Arrival into Heathrow

Earlier today, an Air Canada Boeing 777 declared emergency on arrival at London Heathrow due to a medical incident.

Flight 860, between Vancouver and London Heathrow, was operated by C-FITU, one of the?airline’s?15-year-old Boeing 777-300ERs.

AC860 declared a general emergency, known as the squawk code of 7700, as it was approaching the coast of Northern Ireland.

As the aircraft was around 40-50 minutes from London Heathrow, the crew onboard opted to continue to London Heathrow instead of diverting elsewhere.

Air France Airbus A320 Returns to Manchester Following Smell of Smoke

Earlier today, an 法航 Airbus A320 returned to Manchester Airport following a smell of smoke in the cockpit.

Air France Flight 1269 was a routine flight from Manchester Airport to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

The aircraft departed at 0642 GMT this morning and initially headed southbound after departure.

Lufthansa Presses On With Airbus A380 Reactivation

汉莎航空 continues to press on with its Airbus A380 reactivation as its second frame arrived back in Frankfurt from Teruel this week.

This comes nearly a week after Mike-Kilo, the first A380 to return back to Frankfurt, headed off to Manila for maintenance before re-entry into service.

D-AIMK departed Frankfurt on January 29 at 0644 local time and arrived in the Filipino capital at 0241 local time the next day.

Frontier Airlines takes delivery of the first of 7 A321neos

Aviation Capital Group (ACG) recently announced the delivery of one new Airbus A321neo aircraft on long-term lease to US ultra-low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines

Powered by the ultra-efficient Pratt & Whitney GTF engines, this is the first of seven A321neo aircraft scheduled to be delivered to the airline from ACG’s order book with Airbus.

Traditional to Frontier Airlines, this A321neo will unveil a new special livery with “Ozzy the Orca” painted on the tail.
