Daily Affirmations of a Healthy Life

I know many don’t want to hear this…

But most people aren’t going to look like Brad Pitt off Troy after just a couple of weeks of diet and exercise.

Shocker. I know.

It's taken me years to get to where I am today and I’m still not where I want to be.

For so long I had this vision of what I wanted to look like over the years and unfortunately, as I look back, it led me to do some pretty crazy stuff like…

  • Hours of HIIT cardio or ONLY focusing on cardio
  • Cutting out my carbs completely
  • Useless fat burners
  • Fad diets…

When I didn’t see the results fast enough, I would only make things worse by making deep calorie cuts or increasing my cardio aimlessly.

I talk to so many people that are unfortunately shooting themselves in the foot when they don’t see results quick enough by making it WAY more complicated than it should be.

Then they start to lose motivation when the results don't come.

So how do you stay motivated when you don’t see instant results?

I’ll share with you what helped me along my journey to where I am most comfortable in my own own skin.

Instead of focusing on results, I focused on daily “habit victories.”

I’d ask myself when I was traveling for work or around more temptations in the office…

Did I exercise today?

Did I stay within my caloric allowance?

Did I drink water?

Did I eat enough today?

Did I savor each bite of food instead of shoveling it mindlessly? (thanks boot camp for this one )

This kept me in check each day by trusting the process and not letting my mindset steer me away.

By focusing on my habit victories, next thing I knew…

I could feel my abs… I wasn’t getting drained during workouts… and I looked great in and out of my clothes.

When you focus on DAILY wins, you have something to be proud of each day.

This ignites motivation to keep going.

Then - bam - results come.

So look, I can’t promise you overnight results. No one can.

It’s probably going to take a few months of working together before old cravings disappear and you can buy a new wardrobe.

But when you enjoy the process, every day can feel like a victory.

Which is the key to *permanent* results.

Because what’s the point in getting in great shape... only to gain all that weight back later?

Focus on the daily wins.
