I was angry, irritated, upset and sad from my head to toe thinking my problems could never be fixed because nobody understood them. Was I wrong? Could be, because I always had my parents by my side, they are my best friends no matter what! Whenever I was down on physical energy my mother would use a medicine and get me back to being hyper and whenever I was down on mental energy my dad would get me back to being super happy with the help of some of my good friends. Books.
Yesterday night when I went to my room crying, I saw something through my blurred vision (it was weird because I never cry, trust me). It was a colourful new friend. I washed my face quickly, put on my glasses and sat to read. I never have to worry if I would like the books or not and this time also as always my father had found me the perfect book! I slept at 11 pm after finishing the book.
I was very upset. Only my father was at home and he was just busy typing emails on his computer. The sound he was making was distracting but I was hoping for a better distraction. I did not have any. I was hoping for a book but there was nothing on my bed or any other table in the house. OMG! Someone had replaced my dad. I opened my laptop and started watching Youtube videos in the dark even though I knew it is bad for my eyes. As soon as I clicked my laptop to start the video... I woke up! I looked at my side table and saw the next adventure waiting for me! Huff... that was just a nightmare.
Sitting quietly in a coffee shop with a book to read and sipping hot chocolate with family, sounds just like a Hollywood movie set up but for me it is often real. When we read books we gain the experience the characters in that book have, we go into another world almost free of charge, we make new friends within it and learn so much. I love my dad not only because he is always there by my side but also because he is always there for me with the right book at the right time.
