Czechia joined the EU twenty years ago today
With great pleasure and pride, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Czechia's membership in the European Union.
Over the past two decades, Czechia has played a significant role in shaping the future of Europe. It has made tremendous strides in various areas, contributing to the overall growth and development of the EU.
As we commemorate this milestone, it is also an honour to announce that Ursula von der Leyen , the President of the European Commission, joined us in the celebrations.
President von der Leyen's presence further highlights the importance of this occasion and underscores the strong bond between Czechia and the EU.
Since joining the EU on May 1, 2004, Czechia has made significant progress in various sectors, including economy, innovation, and culture. The country has embraced the EU values and has actively participated in shaping EU policies and initiatives.
Czechia's commitment to democracy, human rights, and economic prosperity has been exemplary, serving as a role model for other member states.
Over the past two decades, Czechia has greatly benefited from its EU membership. It has gained access to the single market, received financial support for various projects, and facilitated collaborations with other EU countries. T
The EU, in turn, has also benefited from Czechia's rich cultural heritage, innovative spirit, and strong sense of community.
As we look ahead, we are excited about the opportunities and challenges for Czechia and the EU. Together, we can work towards building a stronger, more united Europe that is inclusive, prosperous, and sustainable.
