Czechia joined the EU twenty years ago today

With great pleasure and pride, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Czechia's membership in the European Union.

Over the past two decades, Czechia has played a significant role in shaping the future of Europe. It has made tremendous strides in various areas, contributing to the overall growth and development of the EU.

As we commemorate this milestone, it is also an honour to announce that Ursula von der Leyen , the President of the European Commission, joined us in the celebrations.

Since joining the EU on May 1, 2004, Czechia has made significant progress in various sectors, including economy, innovation, and culture. The country has embraced the EU values and has actively participated in shaping EU policies and initiatives.
