What has given you joy lately?
A lot of things socially and professionally. I have attended conferences and workshops this year and attempted to make some connections despite my deep introversion. I enjoy following up with these new friends and learning from them.?I started learning French for a recent trip to a Francophone country and I have kept up with the lessons even after the trip. Learning new words every day and being able to see my progress brings me immense joy. I get excited when I am able to pick up a few familiar words from les films fran?ais - French movies.
What are you grateful for?
I am grateful for family, friends and mentors. I am blessed to have a host of supportive individuals around me who fuel me to do more.
What has inspired you?
I am inspired by the younger generation of researchers - especially in Africa, pushing boundaries to create solutions for the community despite the limited resources at their disposal. Working predominantly with young people at the university and attending research conferences, I am in awe of the ideas and projects from this generation. It fills me with hope and so much pride. With recent advancement especially in the AI/ML space, the youths of Africa are the next big thing - we have the brains and the brawn right here.
What are some important lessons you have learnt?
What wins are you proud of?
Finalizing my master’s degree. I am proud of the strength and determination I put into it. Despite being draining, it features as one of the most exhilarating experiences in my life.
