Cykelkokken - the definition of Copenhagen

Sometimes you stumple upon things which are just right - I first leared about Cykelkokken, having seen several great online posts some 2 years ago and only recently cought up with Mortens to get the full introduction.

Mortens idea to create urban dinning experiences and bring his guests all around the city, is the definition of what Copenhagen stands for in the eyers of many of its fans.

Telling the story of our capital city of Copenhagen, you are likely mention the closeness to the water, the bikepaths, the many people biking, the parks and not at least one of the best culinary scenes in the world.

Foodies flok to Copenhagen to dine at the top restaurants, best winebars, bakeries and more while they stroll around the city, walking or biking at best.

You can go from hipster N?rrebro to the other side of town Refshale?en in less than 20 minutes of easy biking.

The story of chef Morten Kryger aka Cykelkokken (Danish for Bicyclechef) is the story of a person, a business and a setup that combines almost all of the above in just one great experience.

What if you could enjoy some of the best organic ingredients of the Nordic kitchen, while biking around our great city, being served an amazing 5 course menu in ever changing sceneries during 4 hours.

You can follow the sun, see the best sites, dine in city parks, the harbour fronts, the piers and/or with the back drops of historic buildings all over the city.

When you add a chef who knows his city, knows how to juggle both fresh organic produce and entertain guests, then you have a winning recipe that has already been noticed all around the world, both by vising guest have dined, ridden and been cheering with Morten, but also international press having written or filmed the concept of Cykelkokken. There is plenty of great material to be found online, so google ahead and enjoy.

You can have the benefit of moving location between dishes and get to burn calories or absorb them - you make pitstops by cool wine and beer bars, while snacking from the open kitchens on wheels. Visiting places like Rosforth & Rosforth or R?dder & Vin being served a glass or two.

Morten also has his own spot a cozy container sitting just 150 cm above the water and with its doors facing the pier and harbour. Should you wanna get wet, you take 4 steps and dive in to cool down or prepare for dessert. Bring a towel or run along the board walk to dry up.
