Cyclone Nisarga: Appeal All to Stay Inside For 2 Days, Says Uddhav
The IMD on Tuesday, 2 June, said that Cyclone 'Nisarga' is very likely to intensify into a "severe cyclonic storm" over the next 12 hours and will cross the Maharashtra and south Gujarat coast on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Maharashtra and Gujarat chief ministers over cyclone situation, assured all possible central help, the PMO stated.
"Cyclone Nisarga is likely to make landfall near Alibaug tomorrow. At the time of landfall, wind speed is expected to be 100 kmph. Palghar, Pune, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Dhule and Nandurbar, Nashik are expected to receive heavy rainfall tomorrow," Dr Anupam Kashyapi of IMD in Pune was quoted by ANI as saying.

- “I appeal to the citizens to stay indoors for the next two days,” said Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Cyclone Nisarga.
