A Cyclist or a McDonald?
Dear reader,
I would like to share a brief reflection on our economy, attributed to Sanjay Thakrar, CEO at Euro Exim Bank Ltd.
A Cyclist is a disaster for a country’s economy. They do not buy cars, or take a car loan. They do not buy car insurance or fuel. They do not send their car for servicing and repairs. They do not pay for parking, or pay road tax. They do not require highways with multiple lanes. They do not become obese.
Healthy people are not needed nor useful for an economy. They do not buy drugs. They do not go to hospitals nor visit doctors. They add nothing to a country’s GDP.
On the contrary every new McDonalds outlet creates at least 30 jobs, 10 cardiologists, 10 dentists, 10 weight loss experts in addition to those people working in the McDonalds outlet.
Choose wisely. A Cyclist or a McDonalds? Worth Thinking.
PS: Walking is even worse. Those people do not even buy a bicycle!

3 å¹´Might be interesting to cross-check the veracity of that "comment". Here is more info (https://pedalandtringtring.com/2020/05/16/cycling-is-good-for-the-economy/.) In any case, it is a good piece of food for thought and a good conversation opener.
