Cycling through the Old Quarter’s narrow streets was like navigating a labyrinth, each turn revealing bustling markets, ancient temples, and street food vendors selling pho and bánh mì. The serene Hoan Kiem Lake provided a tranquil escape from the city’s frenzy, offering a glimpse into local life as residents practised Tai Chi at dawn. After I started my journey here I was immediately captivated by the chaotic yet charming streets, where motorbikes weaved through traffic with seemingly effortless precision. The vibrant street markets, aromatic food stalls, and ancient temples all added to the sensory overload that is Hanoi. From there, I pedalled my way through picturesque landscapes and charming towns, experiencing the beauty and diversity that Vietnam has to offer.
