Cyborgs for export

Cyborgs for export

Wikipedia: "During the battle, the word cyborg (Ukrainian: к?борг) was used to refer to the Ukrainian defenders of the airport. It was first applied to these soldiers online, and spread from there into the Ukrainian media. It refers to the way that the airport defenders were able to fend off constant attacks by DPR forces in close quarters with little sleep or support, just as science-fiction cyborgs are "indestructible half-men, half-machines", or "superhuman".The cyborgs have become part of Ukrainian national mythos, and are cast in a "near-legendary light" amongst many Ukrainians. The term "cyborg" is usually applied to the following units: 3rd Spetsnaz Regiment, 93rd Mechanised Brigade, 79th Airmobile Brigade, 17th Tank Brigade, and the Right Sector volunteer battalion. "

Let's think about it. What will happen to cyborgs after the Donetsk airport? Where will they go? What can Ukraine offer them?

Continuing the conversation begun yesterday about "what to do with veterans after the war," I can say the following.

Possibly I'm going to exaggerate a little. Or not. But, at this stage, although we have one of the most disorganized and plundered armies in the world, nevertheless, we have some of the best soldiers in the world. The most persistent, the most motivated, the most hardy, the most inventive soldiers. Four and a half months in Donetsk airport. Four. Month. Constant daily fighting. The losses of the offence are hundreds of times larger than the losses of the defenders.

Defenders are called cyborgs for a reason. They are no exactly people. They are cyborgs. Four months to beat all the best that the militias and the Russian army have - this is not for you.

Nobody is joking with the Donetsk airport. Since the Minsk agreements, it has been stormed by the best of the enemy side. Ryazan and Pskov paratroopers, Chechen military units, Motorola and a group of Russian special forces, whom it likely commands, and militias, militias, militias. Constantly, sometimes twice a day. All possible tactics are tried. And artillery sweeps, and armored fists, and just human waves. The task to mop up the Donetsk airport is a key task that now generally faces the Russian side and the best tactical groups of the Russian army and Special Forces are rushing to solve it.

And… Hell no! It does not work. Hell No. Valar Morghulis. All the best that Putin sends to Donetsk airport, invariably goes to a better world.

And now let's think about it. What will happen to cyborgs after the Donetsk airport? Where will they go? What can Ukraine offer them? Well, of course, if Poroshenko is not exactly a moron, and he, it seems, is not a moron, then every defender of the Donetsk airport is awaited by state awards. The title of the Hero of Ukraine for example, I do not know. Perhaps, the apartment. For those who is the military – the next rank. Well, that's all.

What should veterans of Donetsk airport do? What should veterans of Azov, Aidar, 79th and all other heroic Ukrainian military units do? Going to peaceful tracks? Go to the bank as the head of the security department? A year ago I was guarding the terminal from tank attacks and hiding in the bunker from Grad, and today I have a salary of fifteen thousand, and I organize the protection of the bank. Protection from what? From nothing, who needs this bank, all the spiritual efforts go to not drink in the workplace. Already I drink at home.

What to do in line of this? How to organize thousands of professional heroes, which the country has acquired over the past six months? Many of these people will never be able to return to a peaceful life. They went to war forever.

And it's not bad. It's just such a fact. Running away and killing are the two most normal, most natural activities for a person. The entire civilizational weight on our shoulders is designed to somehow hide from us this animal side of our nature, but the war quite quickly tears off this cover of civilization. And the person is alone with himself, with the inner beast, a natural born killer. It’s such a situation; it's not a beast's essence and not a low level of education. The fact is that throughout the world, in any country, regardless of its civilization and educational level, there is some percentage of natural born killers, and this percentage increases when the situation in the country rips from the civilized cultural person its cover of civilization and forces us to return to the sources: to run away and to kill.

About 20% of all who have now gone to war, will never return to peaceful life. They will no longer be sales managers. And the plastic steel windows they will not put any more. And the site will not create. That’s all. These people will now fight a war, no matter what they will do.

Even now, some of my friends are seriously thinking about what they will do after the war. And some of them have already come up with - they will go on fight a war further: to Syria, to Libya, somewhere else. All these people went to war forever. And they don’t care that from the point of view of the Ukrainian state they will become criminals, mercenaries and so on.

And this is just the most difficult of the people who went to war. Simpler people will not realize that they are now soldiers forever, and will return to a peaceful life without having any more points of contact with it. And very quickly or they will get drunk, or they will enter into an insoluble contradiction with the peaceful state, that is, they will kill someone.

What is the next step of the Ukrainian state, which receives such a terrible and uninvited gift: thousands of heroes more unfit for a peaceful life? The best soldiers on the continent stood up against what the American senators frightened children for many years – against the evil Soviet paratroopers. And not just standing, but also killing them by the hundreds, literally.

The answer is obvious. If you have such an unpleasant trump card, play it. Organize heroes and send them to war.

I mean, I'm serious. We need a private military company. Joint Stock one. With state participation in the package. Doing an expensive, very expensive thing, which is selling our heroes to the wars of others.

We are now in the first dozen arms-exporting countries. So why are we still exporting only armaments, not crews? Private military companies roll in money and orders. Why don’t we play this game? We have enough to play with; we have the best soldiers in the world, hardened in the worst fighting in the world in the last 10 years. What battle in the 21st century was more epic than the siege of the Donetsk airport? Something very remote is Americans storming Basra in 2003.

In the creation of a private military company, Ukraine solves several tasks at ones. First, we deliver the highly demandable proposal to the international market. We get a chance to pin Ukraine on the image of the tough-as-nails country. Secondly, we organize a great flow of valuable currency for the state budget. A currency that, unlike metal, agricultural and other things, is always growing in price. War never changes, war never ends, and the market for private military companies will only grow in the next 200 years.

Thirdly, we give our Ukrainian heroes an answer to the question of where to go back. Those wishing to return to their peaceful life will return to their peaceful life. Those wishing to continue the war will continue the war. And, since it will not be about the situation "Here's a can opener and best wishes for you from the homeland, go and defend it from the whole Russian army, if volunteers will bring combat ration and a sleeping bag –luck for you, sonny", but about the situation "That's money", those wishing to continue the war will be able to provide both themselves and their families with a decent, but also deservedly high standard of living. Security advisers, bodyguards, tactical groups - all of which are highly demandable and extra expansive staff, staff of luxury category. And we have it.

Fourthly, we have many more friends on the international scene. Finally, there appears a reason to be friends with us. Not because of some virtual democratic values. But because we have a unique offer for sale, we can help our allies with a valuable and unique commodity - victory in war.

Fifthly, we are radically lowering the degree of discontent in society. The most frenzied veterans receive their decent occupation, their only worthy occupation, to stress, and they receive it not at the expense of the weak Ukrainian budget, but at the expense of the "host party". And they no longer own unregistered weapon and remain in the biker gang on the steppes of Ukraine, shooting at USS, but continue doing their favorite work — accomplish feats abroad.

Sixthly, we will thus dramatically raise and maintain at a very high level our state`s defense. Somewhere abroad, Ukraine keeps a contingent of a dozen thousands of the world's finest soldiers, equipped with the finest equipment, which is constantly undergoing an ongoing combat, without losing skills. There are still as many houses on rotation or pending the signing of a new contract. In these circumstances, Ukraine is able to deploy such a counterattack for two weeks against any aggressor that the question of the violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine becomes a purely theoretical matter. We're just getting too scary to fight.

In general, what is missing to implement this project? Just one thing.

There is a lack of political will on the government's leadership. Because the "heroes will come home" problem is a future problem. And in our country, no one has ever dealt with future problems. There is no future problem for our leaders. In Ukraine, the saying "after us the deluge" should sound "after tomorrow the deluge". Everyone knows that winter's coming. But nobody's going to do anything, so it'll come out suddenly. Which means, if these guys will be shot after six months, then they deserved it. Deserved it, I say.

Sorry for your attention.
