Cybersecurity, NTT QLD and doing great things together

12 months ago tomorrow, my NTT journey began – and what a journey so far! In my own mind, moving to Brisbane and to NTT was about interesting work and a chance to escape from cold Canberra winters. Very quickly, it became that and so much more. Yes, there has been bush-fires, floods and a pandemic, but more importantly, there’s also been an awesome team, game-changing projects and amazing clients!

NTT Security – Global scale, R&D led, practice what we preach

NTT Security is a leader in every way, which shows in our great ratings in IDC, ISG, Gartner, Frost and Sullivan and MSSPAlert (the latter places us as second in the world out of 250 global Managed Security Services Providers!). The NTT Group comprises more than 300,000 people and delivers telecommunications and services to clients in over 200 countries. Our security division is one of the best in the world, and as both a telco and a technology company, the same security team that services our clients, also protects our own operations – we truly practice what we preach. We operate 10 SOCs, seven R&D centres and thousands of security experts, which all help to mitigate 2 billion security threats every year. Our secret sauce is our people, but it’s also the $USD3.6Bn we spend on R&D every year to advance technologies that include (among many others) attribute based encryption and secure AI.

Andrew Stewart. Your energy and advocacy for the importance of architecting solutions that are secure by design is brilliant. The experience you bring to the table, as well as the relentless focus on the needs of your clients sets you apart!

Brett Adams. As our specialist in all things data, your unique ability to distill very challenging security concepts into straightforward, concise and logical solutions in Splunk and other platforms, and to freely share this knowledge with the team and clients alike is brilliant.

Madhumita Iyer. I’m continually impressed by the depth of your knowledge and skill in SABSA, NIST, MITRE, and industry specific frameworks/regulations like CPS234 – it’s what makes you one of the best Advisory Cybersecurity Architects in the game. 

Jan Johnson. The engineering team you lead is so capable. Mansoor Khalid, Varun Muthusamy, Ilia Ryzhov, Rajiv Yadav and Flynn McConnell (and all of the MSS team they work with) are all superstars in their own right, and come together to form an awesome team under your leadership.

Looking to the future

The best thing about working in a cyber-security services team is helping others to achieve their security goals. NTT are privileged to have some amazing clients here in QLD. I’m now one year into my NTT journey, and am looking forward to working together with the local, national and global team to do (even more) great things with our clients.
