CYBERCRIME- National Capital Delhi- BE AWARE

A 65 year old man lost all his savings to fraudster who posed as Electricity Department officials. They sent the man messages claiming that the power supply to his home will be disconnected and asked him to submit all his personal details on a fraudulent applications to avoid the action.

Cybercrimes are nearly increasing everyday. If we see the case of Delhi, according to the 'CRIMES IN INDIA' report published by NCRB (National Capital Records Bureau) - the no. of cybercrime cases in 2020- 166, 2021- 345, 2022 - 685. It has nearly doubled. And it will keep on increasing. These cases include : 1). Financial Frauds 2). Crime against women & children 3). Deep fake content. Elderly people are easy target for the fraudsters as they aren't aware about UPI features and then they fall prey to these online scams.

Senior citizens should be regularly from time to time made aware about online payment applications and crimes related it to.
