India Claims It Foiled Chinese Cyber-Attack on Disputed Border

Tensions in Ladakh rose on the cyber front last week. Chinese hackers attempted to target electricity distribution centers near a disputed territory with India. The two attempts were unsuccessful, according to Power Minister R.K. Singh. Chinese Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian claimed the attacks did not originate from China.

Microsoft Obtains Court Order to Take Down Domains Used to Target Ukraine

Microsoft has taken a hard stance against Russia’s cyber attacks on Ukraine. Seven domains used by APT28, a state-sponsored group operated by Russia's military intelligence service, were taken by Microsoft. Corporate VP Tom Burt said Microsoft “re-directed these domains to a sinkhole controlled by Microsoft, enabling us to mitigate Strontium's current use of these domains.”?
