At Small and Rural Hospitals, Ransomware Attacks Are Causing Unprecedented Crises
It’s always a good idea to look before you click. Multiple hospitals, including one in Klamath Falls, Oregon, have fallen victim to cyber attacks resulting in all of their files being encrypted. Those who work at the hospitals say ransomware attacks can spell disaster for small or rural hospitals because they are the sole providers of care in their respective areas.

Russian Cyberattacks Target Romania
While Russia might be pulling out of Ukrainian cities, their cyber attacks have targeted new regions of Europe. Spillover from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has led to an increase of 120 times the rate of malicious cyberactivity. Everything from big gas and oil companies to vulnerable personal devices has been hit by waves of cyber attacks.

Finland Hit by Cyber Attack, Airspace Breach as NATO Bid Weighed
It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s a… cyber attack? Not only was Finland’s airspace violated by Russian aircraft, but its government websites have also been targeted by a cyber attack. The sites for the Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry, as well as a few others, were targeted at the same time as a webcast with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was scheduled to occur.

India Claims It Foiled Chinese Cyber-Attack on Disputed Border
Tensions in Ladakh rose on the cyber front last week. Chinese hackers attempted to target electricity distribution centers near a disputed territory with India. The two attempts were unsuccessful, according to Power Minister R.K. Singh. Chinese Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian claimed the attacks did not originate from China.

Microsoft Obtains Court Order to Take Down Domains Used to Target Ukraine
Microsoft has taken a hard stance against Russia’s cyber attacks on Ukraine. Seven domains used by APT28, a state-sponsored group operated by Russia's military intelligence service, were taken by Microsoft. Corporate VP Tom Burt said Microsoft “re-directed these domains to a sinkhole controlled by Microsoft, enabling us to mitigate Strontium's current use of these domains.”?
