Cyber Security - Are You Protected?
Odds of your house burning down are 1 in 1000. How many of you have home owners or renters insurance? Odds of you getting in a car accident are 1 in 100. How many of you have car insurance? We have a friend that recently went in for a surgery to remove her gall bladder. When they processed her paperwork she was informed that she already had her gall bladder removed a couple of years previously. Someone had stolen her identity to have the procedure done.
One of the most insidious forms of identity theft happens when a young child's identity is stolen. This identity can often be used for many years and resold many times on the dark web. When the child reaches the age of 18 and applies for a loan or a financial grant for college they discover their credit has been been damaged. They are then forced to prove all of the financial chaos was created by someone else!
How many of you think this problem is going away? How many of think this problem is just beginning and will grow exponentially worse persistently from here on out?
