Cyber Security
When you hear or see the words "Cyber Security" always think about securing your personal information online from those who may want to hurt you by stealing vital information such as your social security number or bank account number etc Also if you receive an email asking for your address, and telephone number etc. and you do not know the person or the source it is coming from chances are this could be a phishing email. Never respond to emails that ask you to change your password without requesting the change or that you have inherited a large sum of money from a company or person you have never heard about. When in doubt it is better to delete the email than to get compromised. The same principle applies when we were growing up and our parents would say "stranger danger" strange email could be a danger. Today many hackers and or rogue individuals are looking for ways to make a quick buck from the innocent. Just be careful about whom you share your information with when online. Think before you give out any personal information about yourself and ask yourself why am I be subjected to these questions when you know that you have not asked for a certain service. Always move your mouse over the incoming email address to check that it is legitimate. If legitimate it should be a clearly defined email address for example "[email protected]" not jondoe@qx$$%!@#!.com always check for the proper spelling of names etc.
