Cyber Observability in the Enterprise

Cyber Observability in the Enterprise

If you know where to look, the internet is awash with videos of people walking into things whilst using their mobile phones. Lamp-posts, paddling pools, glass doors, and more seem to claim these poor folk with gleeful abandon, providing nutrients and sustenance to Youtubers and TikTokers alike.

Enterprises are at risk, allegorically at least, of stumbling into a sinkhole/parked car/random-pile-of-conveniently-stacked-grocery-cartons, whilst intently focusing on their own day-to-day business. In this metaphor, the Youtubers are cyber threat actors, and that big hole you just fell into could be ransomware, network intrusion, data exfiltration, or any of the legion of other undesirable outcomes - all coupled with reputational damage to boot.

Gartner states "The escalating sophistication of threats requires organisations to use multiple data sources for threat detection and response. Network-based technologies enable technical professionals to obtain quick threat visibility across an entire environment without using agents."

A fundamental aspect of Cybersecurity is Operational Visibility of threats and vulnerabilities across the enterprise network.

Simply put, If you cannot see, you cannot act.

Fantastic post on #CyberSecurity ?? Reflecting on what Bill Gates once said, "The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency." ?? Let's continue to enhance our cyber observability and NDR to amplify this efficiency. ??? #ManyMangoes #SOC Follow us!
