When I was making donuts, chocolate-glazed, cinnamon-sugar, and Fruity Pebbles were always on the menu—they were reliable classics.
But then I would go a little cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs…
?? Rose and lavender for Mother’s Day
?? Brown sugar bourbon & bacon for Father’s Day
?? Rosé with strawberry Pop Rocks crispies to celebrate summer
And guess what? People showed up every week just to see what was next.
Because variety is the spice of life, right?

So tell me why…
Some people are saying CX is as stale as a day-old donut. (I agree)
Maybe it’s because we keep propping up the same people, saying the same things, and then wondering why nothing changes.

It’s list season again—the time of year when “Top CX Professionals,” “Influencers,” “All-Stars,” and “Gurus” get ranked. And here’s what I noticed:
Am I the only one who finds this weird? I can’t help but wonder…

To be clear, I don’t think my POV is more insightful than theirs.
But here’s the thing:
Many CX experts don’t write books, deliver keynotes, or travel the podcast circuit.
They’re too busy actually doing the work. ?
