More than 1,100 people have been killed as violence erupted between Israel and Palestine Saturday, after armed groups affiliated with Palestinian organization Hamas conducted the largest missile attacks and incursions into Israel in decades. Over the weekend, Hamas launched more than 3,500 rockets into Israel while its fighters stormed across the border. In response, the Israeli military launched intense airstrikes targeting Hamas-controlled areas in Gaza. Israeli media said some 700 Israelis have died, and the Gaza Health Ministry says airstrikes in the Gaza Strip have led to more than 400 deaths.
