Across London,?Charlton ’s respected academy director?Steve Avory has decided to step down from the role.?Avory – who has been involved with the academy for nearly 25 years –?will remain at the club in an advisory capacity.

The FA have named?former Bristol City Women head coach Lauren Smith as England Under-19s manager. Also in the women’s game,?Yannawit Khantharat has been appointed head coach of Brentford Women’s B team, ahead of the 2024/25 season. With the club bottom of the National League table,?Ebbsfleet United have appointed former Glasgow Rangers and Queens Park Rangers coach Harry Watling as their new manager. He succeeds Danny Searle, who was sacked earlier this week. And in the National League South, Boreham Wood?have reappointed Luke Garrard as manager, just under five months after he?left the club. ?
