At CVS Health, colleagues from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to share their stories, celebrate their heritage, and grow their careers with purpose. CVS Health offers a range of colleague resource groups (CRGs) to support colleagues’ diverse backgrounds and interests. The aNative CRG is a collective dedicated to honoring Indigenous cultures, sharing knowledge, and fostering an environment that celebrates traditions, contributions, and histories of native people.??

For colleagues like Cortney, a Citizen Potawatomi Nation member and Supervisor for Service Operations at CVS Health, joining aNative was a natural step in her journey after graduating from the Haskell Indian Nations University. “Being part of aNative has been a powerful way to reconnect with my heritage and advocate for diversity,” she shares. Cortney's journey from customer service representative to supervisor has given her invaluable experience, and she’s found immense pride in growing as a leader. Involvement in company initiatives where she can champion culture is important to Cortney and she loves that CVS Health offers a variety of projects and opportunities to work with heart. Cortney believes every voice is valued and every individual can lead from within, no matter your role. ?

For others, aNative provides not only a space for cultural expression but also leadership opportunities. Katarzyna, a UX Designer with CVS Health, describes how aNative has enriched her path in tech. Transitioning from contractor to full-time employee, she found the CRG and a supportive community, and was inspired to take on a leadership role within the group. Building a community rooted in trust, respect, and shared experiences is invaluable for navigating the challenges of a corporate career. It’s only the start of her career and she is energized by the growth potential within CVS Health and the opportunity to foster a culture of respect and representation in the tech industry.

Keirran, CVS Health Senior Support Representative really values the culture and community aNative provides in times of challenge and celebration. Dedicated to advocacy, Keirran joined aNative to have more opportunities to volunteer and support Indigenous cultural awareness. The group’s book club has been a highlight for him as it brings together CVS Health colleagues to share and celebrate Indigenous literature, wisdom, and resilience. “Each book is a reminder that every culture deserves respect, honor, and recognition,” he explains. Keirran is grateful for his experience with aNative and the opportunity to meet so many intelligent, talented, and caring people.?

For Jen, CVS Health Project Manager, aNative has a personal connection as her grandson is descendent of the Lakota Sioux Nation and that inspired her to take on the role of North Dakota Chapter Chair. She recalls how volunteering annually at the United Tribes Technical College Powwow has become a chapter highlight, offering space to both honor tradition and give back. Throughout her career, Jen has leaned on the guiding principle of “servant leadership” and is thankful for the many moments when talented leaders inspired and pushed her to grow her career at CVS Health.?
