??? Monday Poll Results
Every Monday, we gather insights from our community through a LinkedIn poll. Sometimes, the poll decides which company to feature in our upcoming Tear-up series, and other times, it's all about market trends and company-related topics.
This week’s poll
Our Tear-up initiative is gaining significant momentum, thanks to our incredible community and supporters who are contributing to growing Community VC.
Now, let's dive into the topic of deal flow – a challenge we all recognise. Dealing with a substantial volume of opportunities can occasionally become overwhelming. Currently, we're conducting approximately one Tear-up every four weeks.
We wanted to gauge our community's preference regarding the frequency of Tear-ups they would like to see monthly.
Find out what our community thought, along with our proposed CVC pricing model here.
??? Tear-up Series
Xailient Recap
Last week, we released our final report on Xailient, a deep-tech company specialising in developing cutting-edge AI tools for camera providers.
Based on our findings, we recommend focusing further due diligence on their intellectual property strengths and unique selling points. Additionally, we suggest reviewing their sales strategy to gain a better understanding of their growth velocity and target markets.
Currently, Xailient is in the process of raising an extension round to showcase its go-to-market and product-market fit, setting the stage for a significant Series A round scheduled for late 2024. If you're interested in obtaining more information or gaining access to this opportunity, don't hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected] .
A huge shoutout and thank you to all our dedicated community members and experts who contributed to this report!

We provide everyone with access to the Stackrank, where they can submit their own assessments. We then aggregate all the Stackrank assessments and allow each person to highlight 1-2 key items they'd like to discuss. We wrap it up with a comprehensive Q&A session.
If you're interested in participating in either or both of the sessions for GIL & Sonnant, they are scheduled for early next week! So reach out to us ASAP at [email protected] .
UPDATE: PRIVATE VS. PUBLIC TEAR-UPS
We've set our sights high for 2024, aiming to launch 10 Retail (Public) Tear-ups and 10 Private Tear-ups each month by the end of the year. With every Tear-up we conduct, you can expect to access a written memo detailing key findings and links to our videos.
Note that access to these memos will be granted exclusively to our members and subscribers of our newsletter.

?? Weekly learning
A little story to begin... (from my own past experience and a recent one).
I checked in on one of my portfolio founders this week, and I got a sheepish reply...
"Yep, things are going alright... keen to have a chat."
TL;DR: The founders have chosen to go in different directions after their alpha product didn't hit the mark as they'd hoped.
So there are three options: 1) Roll your investment into the other founder's continued venture. 2) Roll your investment into my venture (I'll have to do validation on). 3) Get your money back pro-rata."
So here's what I said (short-form)...
?? Firstly, thank you for having the guts to talk to me early about it.
?? Secondly, I am sorry to hear, and I truly empathise with the feelings you have about how people might look at you and this entire situation.

Please do not take this as Financial advice or a guide of what any outcome will be. This isn't financial advice, nothing in this email is, I am not guaranteeing or recommending an investment or outcome in anything. I am simply listing opportunities I believe should be accessible to everyone.
