Cuyahoga River: 50 years after burning

Analysts point out the much-publicized fire on the Cuyahoga River was more notable as the last of its kind and helped ignite the nascent U.S. environmental movement than momentous in itself. Even so, measuring its progress and the redevelopment of the river valley are worthwhile and topic of a package of stories in Crain's Cleveland Business

Another story looked at clean-up efforts so far and yours truly recapped some of the commercial and residential development of the last 30 years:

A custom home, perhaps cosing $750k or more, on the #Cuyahoga River anyone.
The wood and timber push in office leasing may make this building, used for stoarge for 30 yearws, a remodeled office building at the Thunderbird project on Scranton Peninsula.
The Stonebridge apartments and condos are near the river.
Flats at East Bank suites have floor-to-ceiling windows to enjoy river views.

There are also lots of underutilized spaces today. And projects such as Towpath Trail and CF Centennial trail are expected to boost more development.
