Cut Up a combination of elements and shapes
The starting point of the cut-up is "425 Concrete", the installation curated by CARDO and Marianna Costi in 2019 focused on the relationship between cement and nature. It is for the power of that installation that Massimo Nadalini proposes to Carlo Losi to create a surface together.
"425 Concrete is composed of vertical parallelepipeds of concrete jets, with inserts of natural and mineral elements. It is a meeting-clash between nature and concrete, a challenge to understand how these elements so distant from each other could coexist. Similarly, in cut-up, the challenge was to combine the beauty of a handcrafted product with the rigour of the industrial process", says Carlo Losi.
The cut-up collection of Mosaico+ continues the journey of re-reading the surfaces with a new interpretation of 'what is small', thanks to the pre-engravings of the tiles that seem to dissect the module into many fragments. cut-up is composed of modules 14x42 thick 8,5 mm pre-scored , with a surface that mixes fragments of different textures.
Once laid and grouted, the modules are no longer legible and the surface turns into a complex combination of elements, different shapes and sizes.
Staggered installation is reccomended to enanche the design of the patterns.
